MY 35 Efforts Receives National Award

AUSTIN press release– The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) MY 35 public involvement effort won the 2011 National Transportation Public Affairs Workshop (NTPAW) award for best public involvement approach.

The MY 35 effort was recognized for best public involvement approach at the 34th annual National Transportation Public Affairs Workshop (NTPAW) conference.  The conference is sponsored by The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).  Receipt of this award is due to the dedication and hard work of the Advisory and Segment Committee members.  The Honorable Susan Narvaiz was on the Advisory Committee and enjoyed working on the project.

“The MY 35 planning effort truly is a citizen-led, grassroots planning process that operated from the ground up,” said Tim Brown, I-35 Advisory Committee Chair and Bell County Commissioner. “The Segment Committees examined challenges along I-35 at the local level, allowing the Advisory Committee to develop a comprehensive plan for the future on I-35.”
